I’ve been thinking about, and praying for, the people in Japan who have been caught up in the latest natural disaster. Yet again we have the handful of self-appointed prophets of doom pronouncing judgment on the nation of Japan.

Every time there is a tragedy in the news, it seems that someone feels the need to pronounce the judgment of God on the people who are already suffering. First the fires in Victoria, then the floods and cyclone Yasi, and now fires in Perth; is this God’s judgment?
